I'm a newb but I have previously successfully installed and played around with , exponent, mambo, typo3 and props CMSs... but I cannot get eZ installed. After using the offline installer version it is obvious to me that eZ is exactly what I need... I love the embedding objects abilities...

However In my attempt to actually install eZ I get the following error:

****

1. AcceptPathInfo disabled or running in CGI mode

You need enable AcceptPathInfo in your Apache config file, if you're using apache 2.x eZ publish will not run in CGI mode, if you're running apache 1.3.

Check the Apache documentation, or enter the following into your httpd.conf file.
AcceptPathInfo On

Remember to restart your web server afterwards.
Ignore this test

*****

I am using Apache 1.3 something...

My web hosting company told me that I don't have access to the httpd.conf file but that I can use an .htaccess file to turn the AcceptPathInfo to On.

Can someone please tell me the code to put into the .htaccess file? I can't quite figure it out, and also the location to put the .htaccess file.

If I manage this... how do I restart I restart the web server? Do I still need to?

I really appreciate any help. I'm chomping at the bit to get started on my site finally!
