missing dir/files in 3.7.6

i am trying to install 3.7.6 manualy and it says to do the following.

If the following directories do not exist, please create them e.g. with your ftp program.

var/cache/ini

var/cache/texttoimage

var/cache/translation

var/cache/template/tree

var/cache/template/process

var/log

i did this, then the next step is:

<b>Set the permissions of the following directories <b>including ALL subdirectories</b> to 777.

var/storage</b>

their are no <b>subdirectories</b> in it, so are they missing? if so where can i find them? or can someone list them for me so i can look for them.
