Does anyone have any experience with inherent shortcomings in using either a Microsoft or Linux platform? What are developers familiar with- can we find developers in either? Any technical issues to be aware of?

I strongly recommend using a GNU/Linux Distribution (Debiain/Ubuntu) for your eZ Publish development. eZ Publish works very best on a Linux server.

Edit: Also please do not double post to our forums.

Hello,

I did work on both environments, and using a Linux server is way better. We have many issues only due to Windows incompatiblity. Example: Windows has a limit on file path, as images path are truncated when they're too long.

You have to separate the development work on windows (which is very slow, cache generating sooo long...) and the work of an sysadmin.
