Hello all.
I'm about to install EZ publish 3.5, but I can't deside what linux distribution to use. Do you have any recommendations? Does eZsystem recommend any? I read somewhere that redHat 7.1 was recommende by eZsystem some time ago, but I guess they have moved on since then.
Thanks

Hi Endre
I think it does not matter, but my personal preference is SuSE (9.2 professional)
If you want to run ez publish with apache 2, please read this thread:

This question has as many answers as people you ask. eZ publish runs fine with all Linux distribution as fare as I know. Personally I run SuSE 9.2 Professional on my laptop to local development On servers I prefer SLES 9 that gives me professional support and security for that the software that I run is really stable and tested for long.
I can also mention that FreeBSD is a great system to run eZ publish on (I'm been installing many hundreds of eZ publish sites on FreeBSD servers). But this is not Linux as you asked about.
Best regards

Hi Endre,
Paul is right, it does not matter what distro of Linux you use. The choice will be down to what you feel comfortable administrating.
We use Redhat Enterprise for our production boxes and Mandrake/Redhat for other development/testing environments and they all run well.
I am glad to hear eZ runs well on FreeBSD, we had steered clear of it because of some issues with FreeBSD and PHP.
Good luck with your site.
Tony

There are no issues whatsoever with FreeBSD and PHP and there have never been any, either. And personally I find FreeBSD to be easier to administer than any Linux distribution but that's also a matter of taste, of course.
