I don't understand, I have installed ezcomponents, and I have no errors.... just this sign with the good design html.... Thank for your help....

I was able to run the install with index.php up to solving the problems detected of chmod issues, memory issue of 32M to 64M, and date.timezone. I solved all the problems accept the date.timezone leaving it at UTC. Once I pressed next, I received the question mark screen. Then I created a configure.php file setting the time zone to "America/Winnipeg". Now I can get past setting up send mail, and after pressing next, I get a blank screen. and on another attempt get question marks again I will list my environment before I provide text from the In another attempt to install the log file also had a errorini: undefined group: 'debug (something I can't remember) and in site.ini I think it has something to do with caching and or communication with the database server mysql. Hmmm.
Ross Eadie	Wednesday 27 August 2008 11:50:59 pm On another try to install, the text at the end of the long list of one issue with a translation error basically reads as follows: undefined group: 'debug settings' error in site.ini My host service provider has worked with me quite extensively, and he believes the issue is some how with php calls to the proper /directory/folder for the cli version of php. Caching is basically the issue at this point as he manually deleted the files in var/cache while the install script was waiting with its question marks. After deleting, he refreshed the script in Internet Explorer and the script went on to the next step. We went all the way through this way, and in the end we came up with a very unstable website which only logged in a plain user or admin user, butr after loggin in one way, you cannot log in the other way or even just go to the website main page. We uninstalled, and now he is trying a rebuild of the server components with a leeriness. Can someone help us on whether or not we are on the right track? We even edited the bin/php/ez(scripts) to point to the CLI folder instead of the CGI folder which the first line indicates. this attempt did not work either.

Ross Eadie	Thursday 28 August 2008 9:16:00 am Nino, Did you encounter the problem with EZPublish 4.0.1 and solved the problem by installing EZPublish 4.0.0? We are still trying to figure out the issue with no success.
Ross Eadie	Friday 29 August 2008 1:21:34 am So, I am now getting a blank screen since setting all the right settings for the php and server. My reason for upgrading to 4.0.1 has to do with my host provider upgrading his server for security purposes. When I deleted the files for my 3.10.0 installation which incidently worked beautifully versus this situation. When I went to delete the files for the 4.0.1 partial installation, I discoverd write protect questions on my rm -R * command. The files were in the extension, share, and var directories. Is this write protect issue the reason I get the undefined group: 'debug settings' in site.ini ?

Mark Marsiglio	Tuesday 16 September 2008 10:51:12 am I am able to duplicate this problem with 4.0.1 on a new server we are working on. 4.0.0 installs fine. 4.0.1 goes to a white screen after the finetuning is complete and hitting next. The error log complains that it can't find the settings in site.ini [ Sep 16 2008 12:37:56 ] [64.xxx.92.105] eZINI: Undefined group: 'ExtensionSettings' in site.ini [ Sep 16 2008 12:37:56 ] [64.xxx.92.105] eZINI: Undefined group: 'DatabaseSettings' in site.ini If I add the block to override/site.ini, it accepts it and moves on to the next missing ini. So, it seems like it is not reading the ini files, but if I do some debugging in index.php it will output the contents of the site.ini and other ini files fine. In our config, we are running: RHEL 4 Mysql 4.1.22 PHP 5.1.6 Apache 2.0.52 I can get those crazy question marks too, if I fiddle with things a bit. Otherwise I just get the blank screen with nothing. I also tried to copy our existing 4.0.1 install over into this new server, and it will load strange parts of templates (i.e. only one include from pagelayout.tpl, but nothing else, or only the first 10 lines of the page_head tpl). http://www.thinkcreative.com Turning Ideas Into Strategic Solutions
Tuomo Syvänperä	Friday 03 October 2008 10:55:59 pm Did anyone have any insight into this problem ? I have stumbled upon the same problem now that I moved a site from one server to another. At first I couldn't get anything working, but then I changed the folder permissions for all folders to be readable/writable by apache user and the removed the cache folders. Started kind of working, but now that I log in to the administration interface, the content structure seems to work fine, but some portions of it and all other tabs display that strange "??????????????????????????????????????????" thing all over the place.. Did anybody have any solution to this problem ?
