Index.php - reactivating the wizard?

I'm trying to install on a Linux/UNIX system with MySQL. Everything seems to work and I can access ../index.php and gets to the wizard and chooses Next. Then it is working for some minutes but nothing happens. It seems to reload the index.php. I tried to install an older version (3...) some time ago and deleted it. Can it be that some information is left and corrupts a new installation. If so: how do I reactivate the wizard?

Hi, well, i don't know, what happens with your installer...
But: If you want to re-activate the install wizard, look for your site.ini.append file(s).
Toggle the "CheckValidity" (or something similar with "Validity"). When this is "enabled", the wizard starts, when you access your index.php . (Or delete the folders settings/override and settings/siteaccess recursivly to remove all custom settings and sart over with the wizard, too)
