Hello

After taking a look at many messages on the forum, I must admit I have failed to find the answer to my problem. I have installed several versions of ezpublish (incl ez flow) and all seem to display the same problem: images will not show. (I'm working on localhost with Easyphp.)

Here is what I checked:
-GD2 and imagemagick: both are installed (fine tune didn't pick up on that anyway). From what I have read on the forum. However, how do I know which one is being used for image handling, and can there be a conflict?
- php.ini: I have put a 16M limit on picture Max thingybob
- I have tried pictures from both the default VAR and the my_site VAR storage and neither work. (I've checked the path for VAR in settings.ini and it points towards my_website one. From the back-office I have attached a picture directly from the my_website storage folder in VAR and it still won't display.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I should try? I don't know if that will help, but only content pictures will not show, those part of templates do.

Finally, note that I am not a developper and that I am discovering the wonderfull world of website publishing.

Thanks a lot for any troubleshooting pointers. I've gone as far as I'm able to on my own for the time being.

Hi Jonathan,

You can look at the source of your web page and see if the path to the images is correct.

Hello Theodoros,

Thanks for the idea. I double checked it and the path doesn't show. However, I added a caption to the image in the editor and the text displays. Do you know what I need to check to understand why the picture doesn't display?

Thanks again!

Jon

Hi,

Check the permissions of your var directory. Is it writable by your webserver?

Hi Jonathan,

Can you login to the back end, look on the right where you find Quick settings, and enable debug? Load some pages with content which include images and see if debug reports anything.

My first guess is that neither GD nor ImageMagick were detected, and this is the cause of your images not showing. You could also check in the back end: Setup > Ini settings, select image.ini. Check if one of the image tools (GD or ImageMagick) is active, and if they are listed in the "ImageConverterSettings" part of that ini file.

I have a similar problem. Using Windows Server 2003, apache, php 5.2.9, imagemagick. Everything worked fine, then I upgraded to PHP 5.3.1 and the images don't load. I looked at the source code of the page after I upgraded to PHP 5.3.1 and the line in the code that is supposed to load the image looks like this:

<div class="obejct-left"><div class="imageleft"><img scr="/" alt="Mr.Smith"/></a><div style="width: px;">

Before I upgraded PHP, the "img scr="/" part had the full path to where the image was located at. Can someone tell me why it's not putting the path in the "img scr=" line listed above? Thanks.

Hi guys,

Thank you all for your help. I'm a bigginer, and your suggestions made me understand a few things. In the end all 'seemed' to be fine, however I believe that Imagemagick may have been corrupt on install. It was detected and all the right parameters were showing in ini settings. So, I did the only thing left and reinstalled everything from scratch. that worked :), pictures are now showing.

Good luck to you all. Josh, sorry, but can't help you. What version of Apache are you using and are you using ezflow or ezpublish? I saw that Apache should be version 1.3 but not above is that correct?

@Josh look it up here: http://issues.ez.no/IssueView.php?Id=15406

It seems ezp patched for this not working on php 5.2, and now it does not work with php 5.3 (but previous code would probably work...)
