Hi Martin

You can download all packages once from http://ez.no/download/ez_publish/ez_publish_3_stable_releases/3_8/packages and use them for all your sites.

Is there a subversion repository for all the packages?

Thanks

Good idea to make this one "important".
Now, that we downloaded all packages, where must they be saved to?
/var/storage/packages/ez_systems ?
The docs at http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_8/installation/the_setup_wizard only tell us: "If there are any local "site" packages, they will be listed here as well."
BTW: ez, why did you remove the Wizard Page, where one could choose, which other packages we want, additionally to the ones, that belong to the selected site?

Not that I know.

Yes indeed. For each package, create this directory structure: var/storage/packages/ez_systems/[packagename] and unzip the package content in it.

http://packages.ez.no/ezpublish/3.8 is online and accessible from machine, however:
"Retreiving remote site packages list failed".

There should at least be more detailed error message as of exactly what did fail.

Downloading and uploading packages one by one is WAY too troublesome. The same with extracting them locally one by one, creating directories. People who have got installer but no net connection are totally screwed.

This seems to be weak spot in installer. I suggest a local copy of all packages should be always included in installer as a backup. Then, if web fetch fails, local ones should be used accompanied with appropriate error message.

Im also filing this as a bug.

Update: Found solution: I am running Fedora Core 5 and it appears that SElinux policy forbids httpd to make tcp connection to outside. To test, run as root: "setenforce 0" and try to install again, or just go one page back and then forward to package install page again.

Actually, these files apparently cannot be extracted either with unzip or gunzip alone, but tar works:

tar -xzf file.ezpkg

Update: I have filed a enhancement suggestion, which has all 3.8.3 packages attached in one tarball that can be directly unpacked into var/storage/packages/ez_systems.

There is also one added site package in there, using which you can create site with ALL available classes preinstalled, which is very hard otherwise.

I have deleted my eZ 3.8.6 ...
Delete dirs - delete dbs - config Apache - crontab | <b>All rights</b>

Then, i have created a database (utf8) & installing again an eZ 3.8.6. For my surprise, packages are not import.
Then, i have created dirs:

     var/storage/packages/ez_systems

... and uploaded packages ez systems

I like this... BUT install finish:

Fatal error: A database transaction in eZ publish failed.
The current execution was stopped to prevent further problems.
You should contact the System Administrator of this site with the information on this page.
The current transaction ID is TRANSID-02f0fad7206bbf01abf462f08235630b and has been logged.
Please include the transaction ID and the current URL when contacting the system administrator.

Its a bug? Some suggestion?

Hi Vicente

Not sure whether it helps but you can see the failed query in the log file(I think it is the error.log) in the folder/var/log

Hi, Claudia

Reviewing .log, the entries did not correspond with my tasks… then I thought :-*(

"I work in non-virtual host, it could have errors because I kept the previous installation in ez_old dir."

Rm ez_old "et le voila" it´s work.

My eZ XP it´s hard.

Hi

Most likely the computer where you tried to install eZ did have problems with the internet connection. As the installer downloads the packages from the internet, installation will fail without a connection.

You can try to download the packages to your computer and then install the packages from local. Kristof and zurgutt have described how that works for eZ 3.8 a few messages higher up in this thread, I assume it is the same for eZ 3.9 (I haven't tried though).

Hi
You need to download 3.9 packages http://packages.ez.no/ezpublish/3.9/

BUT...

You must install first ezwebin_site.ezpkg, then the packages in order as they are
