I think I heard that ezp does not work with PHP5. Is this still true?

This is a common incorrect assumsion.

In fact <i>Kristof</i> has maintained a PHP5 compatible copy of eZ Publish for some time.

Dear Heath,

If I download ezp 3.9.1 and install it in a server with Apache or Apache2 and PHP5 it will work ok?

If you download and install the eZ Publish PHP5 Port,
<i>http://ezpedia.org/wiki/en/ez/project_php5_port</i>

You should with some amount of effort be able to install the eZ Publish PHP5 Port on Apache(1/2) and PHP 5

Keep in mind this is a fork....

I hope you don't end up not being upgradeable to a newer ez version... I would not risk it.

Though I tried the fork .... and is was better as expected.

No, that won't work

The PHP5 port by Kristof is already quite good, but not everything is working yet.
But you can help by downloading/installing it and report any bugs found.

See also the roadmap:

http://ez.no/ezpublish/roadmap

You can find the current version of Kristof's work on pubsvn:

http://pubsvn.ez.no/svnparent/nextgen_php5/

The ez systems version is located in

http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/unstable/2007-03-21-php5/

There is at least one production site that uses Kristof's port :-)

It seems that Kristof's port link is broken.

Is eZ's port based on Kristof's one, or is it another way of porting, including eZ components for example ?

Hello Vincent

We cleaned up pubsvn a bit while moving it to another server. The svn repository of the unofficial PHP 5 port is now at http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen_php5 (for other related links take a look at the http://pubsvn.ez.no main page).

eZ's port will be based on the unofficial one.
