Email notification problem

Hi,

I use eZpub 4.2.0, on Ubuntu linux distribution with php5 and Apache server. I'm installing the editorial workflow, it's ok but the email didn't send when the content page is modified but there is a notification to the validator. When I write this line command : php runcronjobs.php -d frequent, I've got this error :

Timing: ()
Script cronjobs/notification.php starting
Error: (eZSMTPTransport::sendMail())
Error sending SMTP mail: AUTH LOGIN command failed, output: 503 5.3.3 AUTH not available

In my site.ini.append.php there is :

[MailSettings]
Transport=SMTP
TransportServer=smtp.versailles.inra.fr
TransportUser=vjamilloux
TransportPassword=********
AdminEmail=vjamilloux@versailles.inra.fr
EmailSender=vjamilloux@versailles.inra.fr

I search in this forum some information, but don't find any thing. Is there someone who has a track to find a solution to this problem?

Hi,

I had the exact same problem with the 503 error and the AUTH not available error. If Sander's hint doesn't work, edit the site.ini file that you also quote in your post.

Simply leave TransportUser and TransportPassword empty and see if e-mail notification works again.
