I have made a news section and am displaying the date of the news items/articles on the site with
{$:item.object.published|l10n(shortdate)}
which makes my dates display as
31/12/1969.
I have checked the date on the computer that is hosting the eZ platform (installed with the installer on a XP machine) and it's fine. The date appears fine in the admin section, as well. The only place it is not displayed correctly is on the site.
Could it be I've overlooked something? Can I go somewhere and set the correct date?

If {currentdate()|l10n(shortdate)} also returns the wrong date, then there's maybe something wrong with the way the system date is read. Otherwise, it could be that some objects have zero date. Try republishing one of them.

I am having a similar problem. When I publish the article it stores the date as 31/12/1969. its giving me great trouble as the neww articles never show up on the page as their time stamps are the same .i.e 31/12/1969. How can this problem be solved. Plz help
