I try to install ezpublish-4.0.1.
I use PHP Apache 2.2, mySql 5.0, PHP 5.2.

I have enabled support for zlib and tested it per your example.
MySql and PHP are working together in other apps

I have updated site.ini with MySql information (user, PW, database and port)

After running the index.ohp, I get the welcome page. I also get the Finetune button.
After using either buttons, I get a blank page.

What tells the apache log file?

Did you check your memory_limit and max_execution_time settings?

I reinstalled ezPublish and got the following error:
Fatal error: eZ Publish did not finish its request
The execution of eZ Publish was abruptly ended, the debug output is present below.

PHP ini file :
max_execution_time = 30 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 60 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
;max_input_nesting_level = 64 ; Maximum input variable nesting level
memory_limit = 128M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (128MB)

This is from Apache error log: (Look at the last line)

max exec time of 30 secs is very likely not enough...

Yes, Gaetano is right. Try to set it up to 120 seconds and make another try.

Also, your apache seems to be "threaded implementation", and php needs a "prefork MPM" implementation.

Bye.

Thanks

I have set it to 120 sec, and it goes further. Now I get an error about AcceptPathInfo .
I have added the following to the httpd.conf but it did not help.
<Files "*.php">

Options +Includes
SetOutputFilter INCLUDES
AcceptPathInfo On

</Files>

Once I got the results from the finetune, I cannot run it anymore. I get a blank screen. What can I do to re-start it?

Also, how do I change the configuration from threaded to prefork?

Why

Hi,

Please make sure that all requirements for ez publish installation is good http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/installation/normal_installation/requirements_for_doing_a_normal_installation.

A missing of an extension like mbstring in your php can generate blank pages.

AcceptPathInfo might or might not be needed in fact - it depends on the rest of your configuration. I would suggest to set up rewrite rules instead of using it.

About changing the Apache configuration from threaded to prefork: you need to recompile the Apache server (on unix). On windows you cannot, so you have to live with a multithreaded server. It does not mean that eZ Publish will not work, 'just' that your webserver might crash every now and then - depending on the php extensions you use and the traffic you get. As far as my experience goes, the chances of it crashing are very, very slim.

Thanks for the replies, but I really do not know how to debug it.
I get the first page, continue with the "Finetune" and get only one error:

1. AcceptPathInfo disabled or running in CGI mode

After that pressing Next or Finetune again gives me blank screen. Even running the index.php does nothing.

I chaecked the PHP and it is running with Apache Handler. I have added AcceptPathInfo in multiple ways, may be not the right ones. Most of my installs wewre using the Windoes prepared installs, and they all work fine except for EzPublush.
I have added below the httpd.conf and the logs (all the way down!!!)

_________________________________________________________________
Here is httpd.conf:
#
# This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
# configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
# See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
# In particular, see
# <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
# for a discussion of each configuration directive.
#
# Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
# what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
# consult the online docs. You have been warned.
#
# Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
# of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
# server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
# with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
# with ServerRoot set to "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2" will be interpreted by the
# server as "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log".
#
# NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
# instead of backslashes (e.g., "c:/apache" instead of "c:\apache").
# If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which httpd.exe is located
# will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply
# an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion.

#
# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
#
# Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
# ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
# at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
# httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
#
ServerRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2"

#
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80
