hi,
I'm trying to install ez publish 4.1.3 with ezcomp on a remote host (resellerzoom), I fixed all the setup errors that it show (date.timezone e memory limit) and proceded with the installation. Anyway now it loops asking the database information:
which one of mysql, postgrees and mysqli? enter db access data, and then again which db you use...

when for same strange reason it keep going, I get to the point when it ask me to choose the package to install, whatever I choose it say "An unexpected error has occurred. Please contact the webmaster." (that should be me...). This error come in a blank page. Now I wish to know which error is he talking about and fix it.

Some suggestion?

maybe the webserver you are trying to install on does not have access to the web (nb: outgoing access != incoming) to download the packages from ez.no?

To check, the easiest thing to do is to have a console access to the server and then try to download stuff from the web, eg "wget http://ez.no"

To fix, you will have to download the packages by hand from http://packages.ez.no/ezpublish/4.1/4.1.3/ and use the 'upload' button to upload them to the server

nope.

wget via console works perfectly. When I try to upload a package in that page I get the same error. It's odd... there is a log? a place in which I can find a detalied description of this error?

the last one should be the uploaded package

I also get "An unexpected error has occured" after selcting the site package.

also when trying tot upload the files manual, using the upload function at the bottom at the site package selecting page, i get the same error.

I get the mentioned error when using FireFox... when using IE8, i get an 500-error page.

The error-log gives the following information:

This is the error after trying to upload manually

[ Jul 23 2009 12:50:59 ] Unexpected error, the message was : The archive 'compress.zlib:///var/spool/php/phpxTWeNz' has an invalid block size. At least one block expected in tar archive in /volume1/web/CMS/lib/ezc/Archive/src/tar/v7_tar.php on line 184

This is the error selecting one of the three selectable site layouts.

[ Jul 23 2009 15:15:05 ] Unexpected error, the message was : The archive 'compress.zlib://var/cache/packages/ezwebin_site.ezpkg' has an invalid block size. At least one block expected in tar archive in /volume1/web/CMS/lib/ezc/Archive/src/tar/v7_tar.php on line 184

Anyone knows how to get further?

Thanks in advange,
Herre
