The Opera browser fails to show any content where my module_result.content output should be. Firefox works perfectly, but Opera chooses to ignore the whole dynamic display, instead just showing the html.
Does anyone know why this could be?

This sounds like it is most likely a CSS problem. Check the source of the page in Opera vs. your other browsers. It is very unlikely that you have different code being sent to different browsers.
I usually troubleshoot this with Firebug (extension for Firefox) to identify the problem div and adjust the CSS to make it work. Another way is to remove sections of your CSS to try to narrow down the elements that are causing the problem.
