Anyone have any suggestion on running a spell check on documents stored in ezpublish? All I can think of right now is right a script to extract the XML source, strip the XML tags and then run a spell checker.

What kind of functionality are you looking for? For me it seems that you have a lot of content that has already been published using eZp - and you wish to extract this in order to spellcheck and republish it..? OR: Are you looking for spellchecking-feature when content is about to be published? I think the latter might be implemented as early as in 3.4. There have been some internal rumors about this..

It's actually the latter I'm after.

Can anyone confirm a spellchecking feature is in 3.4?
It is a strong requirement for a project I'm evaluating eZ publish 3.x for...

Has anybody followed the above suggestions and implemented some form of spellchecker?

Hi,

As far as I know, spell checking has not been implemented yet. I'm sorry to inform you about this. However, if you really need spell checking then you should contact eZ systems and ask if it would be possible to have it implemented as a payed support project. Send an e-mail to [email protected] and ask.

I've just found this and after a few minutes of testing it seems to be a pretty good solution.

If you're using explorer then this is very quick and easy to install and use.

For anyone using Firefox, I highly recommend you look at the SpellBound plugin (http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/). While some may prefer that the spell check is a part of the online editor, I like the fact that I can spell check any form field I type into - including on forums like this one!
