How does one close a poll?

Greetings,

The other day I realized that while I knew how to create and use a poll, one very important feature seemed to elude me. I did not know how to "close" a poll.

A closed poll might allow the results to be viewed but the user would not be allowed (even through url manipulation by hand) to vote on a closed poll only view the results.

Many have asked about working with polls, I have yet to hear anyone ask about what to do with a poll once they are done with it, wanting of course to leave the information online while preventing the addition of further votes.

Cheers,
kracker

Ok,

I get it now. The feature I'm really looking for does not exactly exist as I'm thinking of it. It would be simpler if one could enable or disable the collection of poll votes through the eZ publish : admin instead of having to create template overrides for "closed" polls.

I will request this feature / submit a bug "enhancement" as it seems in general like a "good idea".

Hi Kracker,

If template manipulation is not good enough, i would file a bug report (enhancement) on the information collector system

How about creating a new section, give it the right permissions, assign a node (calling it for example "closed polls") to that section and move the polls that you want to close into that node.

(pauses for breath)

wouldn't that do it?
