How can I hide a part of a template in some cases?

The print_pagelayout.tpl uses the same template to show the class, so it shows also the print button again. Is there any way to avoid showing this part of the template in print_pagelayout.tpl? Anyway to know wich template has been executed? TIA Can you feel it Mr. Anderson? Closing in on you? Oh I can, I really should thank you after all.
