Hi,

I'm researching what CMS to use for a project of the company I'm working for. eZ publish seems to be a very good candidate; we already have it up and running in a test environment.

However, what we would like to do is the following: we would like to put hi-res (300dpi or more) images in the database, and use them low-res on our website. So far no problems. However, we would like to use the hi-res images to output hi-res PDF files, in order for us to be able to print them in full colour in (conventional) print quality. We would also like to include fonts in the PDF files.

As far as I have seen this isn't possible yet. However, I could be wrong. Therefore I would like to know if someone knows if this would be possible with eZ publish, or that it will be in the future. At this moment I'm not looking into the technical details too much (yet), I would only like to know if the concept would work.

Your help is appreciated!

In 3.4 it's possible to specify DPI when adding images to PDF. It's also possible to embed custom TrueType Fonts.
Template code for adding images with custom resolution is something like :

{pdf(image, hash( src, src,$image_content.original.full_path,
                  width, 200,
                  height, 200,
                  dpi, 300 ) )}

Width and height specify size in PDF document. Actual image size is calculated based on DPI and specified size, and resized automaticly on the fly.

Thank you for your prompt reply! Should this already be working in 3.4.0 Alpha 4?

Hi

Setting custom DPI and font will not work untill 3.4 beta 2.
Using custom TrueType fonts is a bit tricky, but I'll post some instructions on it before the final release.

Okay, that's great. I just have to be a bit patient then... :-)
