I have tried several ways to get images to display on the site. They show up when editing using the admin interface, but on the site you get the error:
You do not have permission to view this object.
wherever an image is supposed to be.
I have manually gone in and chmod all the images to 777 even, it still says that error on the web page. I then tried to use chmod -R 770 /var to see if that would help (from another forum posting) that did not do it either.
I am sure it is something simple I am doing wrong - this is my first site using EZ, so I am really a newbie.
Thanks
Chris

That warning is a eZ Publish permission warning, meaning you don't have access to see them .You can verify this by login with admin user on frontend (if you don't have login link, go to '<site_url>/user/login').
You probably don't have a "content, read, class( image ) section( media )" rule or something (section part depends on where you save the image, class part could be banner instead but it depends on what content you don't have access to). Go read in the doc about "user roles" and "access rules" if you are unsure what I'm talking about.http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_0/concepts_and_basics/access_control

I've just had exactly the same problem, and the answer given by André was the right one. Thanks ! :)
Ca, c'est fait !
