EXIFanalyzer.... is this doing something?

Hi,
in the INI Files, i found some setting about Imageanalysers.
I'm interessted in the EXIFanalyzer, that seems to be available for Jpeg and Tiff images.

Unfortunatly, i found no documentation about it at all :( Does this thing really exist and do something ?

I just returned from vacation and want to publish my (Jpeg) photos online. I wondered, if i could use ezPublish (and WebDAV) for this, compared to other options like JAlbum etc.

What i'd like to do is create and store comments/descriptions in the EXIF and/or JPG Metadata IN the jpeg files, and publish the images to ezPublish, which should extract/provide the data (like original date and time, and comment) from the pictures to the display template.

So, did anybody do something like this? Is there some docu on the exifanalyzer at all?

EDIT: I just found exactly one line of docs:
http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_7/reference/objects/ezimagealiashandler , on the very end of the page
(seems to be available for ez 3.6, too).
Did anybody use these features for JPGs from digicams yet? I'd love some template code samples for an image gallery displaying some EXIF data.

Cheers,

Marco

Hm, i just checked the data in my images.
It seems, as GD does ruin everything, once it resizes the image:
The EXIT Data is gone and the JPEG comment is overwritten by something like
"CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90"
:(

Is i usually re-size the _original_ image to something like 1024 pixel max., this also affects my original image :(
Does anybody know a trick on how to convince GD to leave the Metadata untouched? Using ImageMagick is not really an option; the only other option i currently see is _not_ to resize the original images.

Can you update us on this subject?

Did you succeed with EXIF metadata
