Please excuse me if this has already been addressed in another post; I was unable to find it mentioned in the forums.
4.4 changed the way you select a content class when you want to add a subitem in the admin site. It's nice, and I'm sure it's fine for sites with few content classes or only a few changes at a time. We have many, many content classes, though, and the site is under heavy, active development. It is very tedious to have to find the content class you are looking for now, when you used to be able to use the keyboard to speed up the search.
Is there any way to change a setting to use the 4.3 style content class selector?
Thanks!

And we can't use mouse scroll up/down. I think it's possible by editing the template, just look the original 4.3 template and revert the changes that affects this menu.
I think these are the templates:
design/admin2/templates/children_detailed.tpl
design/admin2/templates/children.tpl

Yes, the "autocomplete" functionality for selecting classes would be really handy.
Chris, why don't you suggest it as an enhancement in issues.ez.no...

We got a lot for free using the YUI libraries, but yes, the create-menu has it's limitations on large menus. I was hoping to see improvements appearing at YUI. In the mean time, here's a couple of workarounds that might not be perfect, but still worth trying:

Vertical scrollbar + keyboard select: http://ciitronian.com/blog/programming/yui-button-mimicking-native-select-dropdown-avoid-width-problem/
BTW: What do you consider being a "normal" (not being admin) size for this menu?

Good idea, I'll go suggest that as an enhancement. Ideally it would be a user preference to choose one or the other, because I DO like it for the regular users if they have a limited number of classes available to them.
I don't have a good handle on how many classes a "normal" user would have; I've mainly just been developing and haven't had a chance to check out the user experience. I know I see around 200, though, and that's certainly too many for this style.
