Hello guys,

I've encountered a freaky thing while browsing my eZ project from my client computer: The billboard object, in every frontpage, doesn't display the images. It just shows an empty frame.

His computer runs on XP OS and no matter whether browsing through ie or firefox, the pictures in the billboard doesn't appear at all.

Any idea why this may be happening?

Thanks a lot!

If you have migrated your project from a linux enviroment to a windows system, some files could be missed because windows doesn't accept files with big names.

Another possible problem could be that in the case of the migration you missed to set your project to use the right image converter, like gd instead of the image magick in the windows computer.

If this project is hosted in a computer 'a', and you can view billboards in your computer 'b', and not in the client computer 'c', then could be another problem. Is this the case or not?

Hi Thiago, thanks for your reply.

Well, not exactly.. it's not the matter of migration. This eZ project is installed and running on a Linux vps. I just went browsing the website on my client computer and the images, included as banner objects, on the billboard objects of the frontpage objects are not displayed. The odd thing is I have this problem only when browsing the website from his pc. That's weird!

All the other images are coming just as they should..

Checked files' name too.. pretty short..

Very strange...

Right click the firefox page and select show source code. Find the banner address ( img src tag of the banner ). Try to open only the banner image with your browser.

It's not cache problem because you tested in IE and Firefox. Neither migration problems ( image converter, unix file name ) because it isn't migrated. It's not a server file access permission problem because you can see these banners in other computers.

Maybe some software is blocking these images in your client computer, MAYBE.

It seems that by disabling the antivirus of my client computer, he can see those billboards' images.

Something is blocking the billboard objects' content only since all the others pictures are coming just fine.

Is this meant to happen?

Yeah, the issue depends on the antivirus which has options to block banners.. so it seems to be.

Quite annoying... for the few having this setting can't use banners..?!

When an image is loaded from the Media > Banners' section it is saved in the system's banner folder and that's what seems to make it blocked by the antivirus that has the anti-banner enabled.

In order to prevent this from happening the object can simply be created under Images instead of Banners ..

At least this is what has helped me solving the problem!
