too many and obsolete pinned topics

Many of the pinned (important) topics on forums are obsolete and should be unpinned. Also, number of pinned topics is far too great - for example on General forum real, current posts dont fit on page at all, i have to scroll down. And lets look at them:

1. Bulk import. Last post with useful info 4 years ago.

2. Performance optimization. Last relevant post 3 years ago.

3. Projects section. Last info 3 years ago.

4. Convert iso-8859. Last info 3 years ago.

5. Irc channel. Always relevant, but wrong place for this info.

So all in all, whole first page of forum is wasted on obsolete stuff or stuff that should not be there. The info about existence of projects section is of course essential, but luckily there is item for it on top menu. The same should be for IRC.

I suggest that all pinned posts in forums should be looked over and unpinned, if not absolutely necessary and actually current. There should never be more than 1-2 pinned threads in a forum. Also, they must stylistically be more different from threads below, few pixels difference in the yellow blob is not enough. Reduce height, change background, put a red ! in front of it, something like that

Hi Zurgutt,

I can only agree on all your points here. This comes as a great complement to this thread: http://share.ez.no/forums/feedback-and-ideas-for-this-portal/request-unanswered-forum-threads-view-template. All the points your are making will surely make it into the redesign of the whole site.

Thanks for your time, and i hope others will express themselves here, so that the future design can better match a large consensus.

Cheers!
