Hi guys..

I'm finding I participate more and more in the range of web-offerings, services and sites under ez.no and find it frustrating that not only do I have to have three different accounts to use issues.ez.no, projects.ez.no and share.ez.no (forums) but the login session for each doesn't last very long (24h AFAIKT)

Also when selecting 'you need to login to post to this forum' the login screen also has an error message before you do anything 'Could not login'. - like, I know, I haven't started yet! ;-)

Been meansing to post that for weeks - there, I feel better now :-)

Cheers
Russ

Hi Russ !

"I'm finding I participate more and more in the range of web-offerings, services and sites under ez.no and find it frustrating that not only do I have to have three different accounts to use issues.ez.no, projects.ez.no and share.ez.no (forums) but the login session for each doesn't last very long (24h AFAIKT)"

I am a bit surprised, given that your ez.no account serves as a Single-Sign-On account on all platforms :

  • share.ez.no
  • ez.no
  • issues.ez.no
  • projects.ez.no

Could you give us a few more details on what forces you to have three different accounts, or what symptoms show you you should have 3 ? As to the session duration issue, again i do not have the same issue here. Maybe others could tell us if they encounter this ?

"Also when selecting 'you need to login to post to this forum' the login screen also has an error message before you do anything 'Could not login'. - like, I know, I haven't started yet!"

Hehe, that is correct. The link you are clicking is actually posting the the SSO form, with most obviously empty values since you haven't started yet :) This is due to a slightly outdated login view on ez.no, which requires post data to understand the redirection URL. I am sorry for this inconvenience, this should be fixed as soon as we give a touch of love to ez.no.

There, i also feel relieved to have answered this ;)

Cheers Russ !

@nico: projects.ez.no might share same account, but it never was in sso afair.

Baout session timeouts: definitely less than 24hrs. Might be worth checking...

Ah, good point - you know I think it's precisely because the login only lasts 24h on each that I thought I had 3 different accounts (while using the same credentials across the board).

Regardless, just had t login again this morning having been on the forum only a day or so ago.

Cheers.

Also - after seeing that error message upon logging in to the forum, you scroll down to where you want to make your new post (like I just did now) and even though I am logged-in, the text says "You must be logged-in to post to the forum" - but I am! ;-)

It's no biggie, just a bit of a pain is all.
Cheers again,
Russ

Ah - now this is the behaviour that I think is odd: If it's the same acc on all 3 (4?) sites, and I login to sahre.ez.no (forums) I feel I should automatically be logged-in to everything else as well.

However - I'm logged-into the forums (albeit in another FF tab in the same physical browser) but on projects.ez.no I need to select "Log In" again before it'll let me in to edit stuff I have the rights to edit.

Cheers.
