Simple Mailing list

hi there,

i'm looking for an simple extension, to send plain text mails to a list of recipients (ca. 500).
i don't need a complex extension like ez Newsletter.
Are there any existing extensions?

If there aren't: are there any good tutorials which explain how to extend the cms section using extensions?
