1- how often is the search index updated? is it updated periodically or on obj publication?
I have seen that, after installing ezfind, I need to run the updatesearchindex script by hand at least once before the search takes off, but I don't know if I have to schedule it or not...
2 - moving solr search index into ez var dir (to keep ez directories read-only, for improved security): is this correct: <i><dataDir>../../../var/solr_data</dataDir></i> in solrconfig.xml?
what about java/solr/conf/scripts.conf? 2b - is the data dir read by the java process, by the php indexer, by both? In fact I am not sure about this: is all communication with eZSolr done exclusively via http? ps: sorry if any of these questions has already been answered on the forums/ mailing list. One sure welcome addition to the docs would be a small architectural overview, with a nice graph and the details of the different scripts/configs/processes involved...
