Dear eZ crew,

I was wondering when will you implement solr facets into eZFind?

With this we could have really powerful and fast searching. Today advanced searching is limited (full text search with additional filtering on some attributes is not possible). You are either stuck with subtree/section/class/published limited searching or complicated fetch-tree filters with no full text search.

After quick look at solr facets which are mentioned in solr.ini it seems that they could offer great possibilities but then I found a comment in solr.php:
//FacetFields and FacetQueries not used yet!

Thanks for any info

if you check out the latest ezfind code from svn, you will find a lot of useful new stuff is already in there.
So either grab it while it's hot, and be ready ro deal with a couple of quirks and do frequent syncing to svn, or just wait a little bit more...

Hello Gaetano,

This is good news but I am already in production, so it would be very risky to go with trunk. Can you list this quirks? And how long will we wait for new version? Is it going to be for eZ 3.* version?

for quirks, follow th open issues on http://issues.ez.no/IssueList.php?ProjectId=8&ClearOk=1, and don't forget to add any you find ;)

I have no control over schedules or roadmaps, sorry, so I cannot really help about it.

The ezp3 branch in svn says "ezfind 1.1", so there should be a new version coming out sooner or later...
