Congratulation the new layout is great !!!

With one more pinch of css3 / js eyecandies it'll be perfect.

Maybe those humbly design ideas could elevate the user experience :

  • titles & block shadows
  • some round corners on nav & footer (to delimitate those from page background)
  • new "ezShare" theme for TinyMCE
  • simple hover effects
  • higher logo resolution
  • more detailed footer

I would be glad to help if needed.

Cheers !

Hi Martin,

thanks for these ideas, this all sounds great. Would you mind filing them in the dedicated issue tracker, as enhancement requests for example, so that they stick in all share.ez.no team members' minds ?

Thanks a lot in advance !

One nitpick: despite your example with images, I still have to understand exactly what the icon on the left of a forum post and the color used for the bubble on the right mean wrt. the status of a forum post. And is pending/answered status not orthogonal to sticky?

I might be dumb, but adding tooltips would help me a lot in deciphering functionality on the website (and possibly changing the 'sticky' icon too... what does it exactly represent?)

Very nice work :-)

Any chance that the new share.ez.no functionality and design will be released to the community?

Best regards

Hi Niklas,

We ( the share.ez.no team) would like to make all the custom features available. A large amount of them are, however, quite project-specific currently. They need some love and cleaning-up generally. This is not priority #1, but we do have this in mind. To keep an eye on where the portal is going, you may want to keep an eye on the team's blog : http://share.ez.no/blogs/share.ez.no-team/2010-sept-1st-meeting-minutes

Per the design itself, the only way i could see it shared should be under the form of static HTML+CSS, given that the implementation it self (into templates), is again quite specific and far from a legacy website interface. Amongst other, it was sliced and diced with Varnish in mind. What did you have in mind when you thought about getting the share.ez.no design ?

Cheers !

Hi Nicolas,

Thanks for your answer.

I working on a non profit site that will help NGOs to start projects, what they will needed is more or less the functionality share.ez.no will have after the intergeneration between share.ez.no and projects.ez.no.

For now we are working with the extension teamroom for the project parts, it's a nice extension but lacks some of the community functions. There for it will be great if you in the future would release share.ez.no as a community/project extension.

I'm not that interested in design of share.ez.no, just thought it will be easier for us to redesign then start from scratch. Much like the teamroom extension, there design/functions gives us a nice start in our work for a personal look/site.

Thanks for your time and great work :-)
