Hi Nicolas, I've just tested it.

Installation, style editor, and multiupload are ok.

I had some problems with the bundled ezfind, but using the ezfind version from github was ok (a version from February 18rd).

The very first bug I found in eZ 4.4 remains, just install ez in pt-BR, go to admin->setup tab, clear the cache, and you'll get en-GB setup tab.

I reported it at issues.ez.no

We only build for trunk... I'm a bit surprised.

I'm aware that this is not the main focus of the 4.5 release, but the content creation part is still as bad as it was in 4.4. I'm referring at the "Create new" button with the really bad class selection menu. A good one would have this features:

  • scroll on hover: NO
  • scroll on mouse click (on top and bottom arrows): YES
  • scroll on mouse scroll: YES
  • autojump on keyboard typing: YES
  • wider menu with multiple columns

Something like the language selector on http://translate.google.com/ would be really nice.

This is one of the main admin interface usability issues, you could create a new request at issues.ez.no

Those of us interesting in giving the RESTful interface a run for its money; where should we start?

I have a small usability problem (the same was in 4.4.). When I change the table option in Sub items window, everything is fine until I reload page. After that I have a initial column settings. Is it normal?

@ Eirik,

Have you seen http://share.ez.no/blogs/ez/ez-publish-rest-api-developer-preview-release and specifically the link http://gist.github.com/602862?

@Robin: I have, and I have also read the two articles posted about the developer preview, but I've found them a little hard to digest. Also, I was hoping there would be some new material as I assume the code has evolved quote a bit since then (at least it looks that way from Ole Marius' slides from the winter conference).

Sincerely,

Eirik Alfstad Johansen

@Radek : that's not the normal behaviour. The choosen columns of the sub items table are stored in a cookie. By the way, the column selection is specific to the navigation part.

+1 on Marko's message. there are (at least) two issues on that http://issues.ez.no/17546 and http://issues.ez.no/17350

Cheers

This was already reported few months ago in several issues:

Please fix it, this is one of the main reasons why I haven't yet migrated my eZP sites to 4.4.

this is also the reason why some of our customers still prefers eZP 4.3 over fuji...

Edit: the only reason.

Good to see this Beta release.

But, now...how can we participate ? Any news on that matter ?

Because some of the issues could be corrected easily by the community, and fast !

So a howto guide or a "particpate" section on Share would be great for every Git addict in the area ;-)

Hi Francis,

The Share Team is currently finishing a new Participation model. So if you are a Git addict, please stay tuned! You will soon be informed about what areas are open to participation, and also with instructions how. In the mean time, it might be worth to also read http://share.ez.no/blogs/community-project-board/rfc-ez-publish-community-project-release-policy.

Make sure to keep an eye on http://share.ez.no/blogs/share.ez.no-team. The participation model will be announced there very soon.

How about considering this issue:

It was stuck on a debate with no final opinion or decision.

@Eirik, we do want to provide some hands-on tutorials, on how to use the REST interface. But I do not think this will happen before the actual release.

Cheers,

Ole M.

Thanks for the update, Ole Marius. Hopefully, these articles will be "so easy that even my mother could follow them". I've had some trouble following the last ones. :)
