Plz make the screenshot image a link to a 100% size version of the same. It's a bit small for olde people like me. In particular, I have a hard time finding in that image: - drag left menu width (is it the bottom-right corner of the treemenu box?) - hidden right menu: it just seems to be cut off-screenshot - or the icon to make it appear/disappear is in bad shape? - the "tabs for showing stuff of current item" and "buttons toolbar at atop" are gone or just not implemented yet? Other ideas: - nice idea for on-hover menus for children items. It should apply of course to all 'left-click context menus' - hide lang selector drop downs for edit item and add child, they take up too much space. They should be appearing when user hovers mouse over the corresponding action button (2 clicks saved!!) - or be converted to a flag that takes up less space - the "manage versions" link could become a tab in itself of the full object view - even though that would be a lot of work... Last but not least, a question: with all this css/js goodiness, are going to improve or break WCAG compliance?

Could you please verify and update the installation instructions? In my case, I'm totally lacking any structure to the interface. Full svn checkout doesn't seem to behave well, either.

It works for me and here's what I did: (while inside <ezroot>/design) svn co http://pubsvn.ez.no/nextgen/trunk/design/admin2/ admin2 and then changed SiteDesign ini setting for the admin siteaccess to admin2.

I've got the same problem as Piotrek (I think) with a plain site. I have no structure at all - and I get an error "jquery not defined"... which would do it I suspect. So, what is missing - is there a list of extensions that have to be installed too (like ezjscore)? Or, do I HAVE to install ezwebin/ezflow et. al. to test this?

I agree with Bruce here, the target audience is important and it seems they are somewhat forgotten. Although the prototype looks good, I did e.g. see on some earlier sketches a tabbed interface on node information (might be wrong impression) and it would be a killer of anyone in need of a complete view of all the information (like what is possible today) We have so many excellent tools at our disposal as professionals in the web industry. I bet us partners and eZ has gathered a certain amount of data over the years that can fuel an excellent UX process. What about doing a simple thing like creating some personas and using them as red lines through the process? I am personally a drop dropdowns guy, although I see the need for those now and then. However, many things can be done without dropdown bonanzas and will give the user a better view of all the information at his/her disposal.

It hasn't been implemented yet since several voiced they they didn't like it. So I'll leave it to the new UI guy to decice on it and potentially implement it like proposed by @Gerhard as well if it makes sense.
But it'll definitely get my vote, as I'm tired of enable / disable them since I don't like having to scroll so much to see the children but on the same time I occasionally need to see some or several of the info boxes as well.

Hi A few comments to handling input forms
- Possibility for tooltips/help
- Client side validation.
- Now the fields are also very long, this is kind of confusing when entering short text for example. The size of the field should ideally reflect the amount of content needed.
- For me the alignment of the label above the actual input field just feels more complex. A more standard layout with first label and then the input field uses the horizontal space better and also avoids too "long" forms.
All for now but will try to give some more general comments later.

Very nice. It looks simpler, lighter, quicker. It only misses a theme (but maybe its just a functional layout). Would be great to have an admin siteaccess theme chooser. The current back-office theme is great but looks a little sad and boring now...after 4 years of work on it.

I agree with alot of the stuff that has been said on the forum. I Like @Gerhards idea. Maybe some sort of drag/drop(jquery) solution on changing priority on subitems?

@Martin: Yes, theme is not implemented yet. Started a bit on it this week(see bellow) but will get more done next week now that the UI guy is up to speed.
@Tony: trunk is a moving target, so not something we have setup on a live site I'm afraid currently. There is a user story for it I think, so maybe for 4.4. @All: Small update on current progress can be found in these images:

So there is currently a toolbar for actions, but I think we will skip that sometime next week and do something else (mix of 1. prototype tab idea and having the buttons in the box they kind of belong: edit/move/remove on node and create on sub items).
Also some cleanup work has gone into the drag & drop sorting code in ezwt (website toolbar), and will hopefully be easy to merge to admin2. It's yui 3.0 based, but that is not negative at all (it's very solid).
BUT: Would you expect and drag & drop interface to store the actions automatically or not? pro: fully ajaxed, cons: could be annoying as it breaks with how the rest of the interface works.
