Currently, there's no category under the contributions for login handlers.
What's the right place to put login handler extensions?

Kristof, hacks is a right place for your extension. This is alternative solution for user handler which is in eZ publish, and your extension base on it (your modifications).
Your extension is very usefull, btw ;)
In future Contribs section will be rebuild, new and more usefull tools for developers will be added.
