Hi,

If you read http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/4_x/concepts_and_basics/content_management/object_versioning and specifically the sentence:

A published object can be removed/deleted from the system (step 3a). When removed, the object's state will be set to "Archived" and thus it will be in the trash.

That would indicate the object is indeed deleted.

hi,

first of all thank you for your help :)

i read this article and specifically this sentence "the object's state will be set to "Archived" and thus it will be in the trash" but the trash is empty despite i have archived objects.but it's not a problem, my real prblem is:

I'm working on a site and i have some invalide URLs, i want to delete them (because they make problems in google search), when i edit the object and delete the link, normally in the URL managment ,the link must be deleted automatically. But this isn't the case, the link still in the list :'(

Please have you an idea to resolve this problem?

Hello,

I guess you are deleting objects form the administration interface, right ? If so, you should be proposed a "Move to trash" checkbox before confirming removal. If checked, the removed object should be present in the trash after removal.

Ow, which version of eZ Publish are you using ?

Let us know,
Cheers,

Hi Anoir,

Are you seeing an intermediate screen, right after having clicked the "remove" button. This screen should propose a checkbox reading "Move to trash". If you check mark this, the removed object is actually only placed in trash, which you should wee when visiting /content/trash/.

Could you give us the details of the procedure you are following ?
Cheers,

Hi Nicolas,

I think that my question isn't clear, so i will explain more.

"the object's state will be set to "Archived" and thus it will be in the trash".

I understand from this sentence that all archived version are in the trash, right?. but when i go to the trash i find not my archived versions objects.

I want to know if the system use archived version or not?

thank you :)

Hello Anoir,

If i understand correctly, you may be confusing the status of a content object, and the status of a content object version. If you take a look there, under "Status", you will see what states a version can have. In the bit of documentation you are quoting above, the state in question is the object's, a different layer. While conditioned by the states of its versions, an object has less available states then a version, and its state is set to "Archived" when place in the trash. This means that you should be able to see all objects, the state of which are "Archived", in the Trash.

And yes, the Archived versions are used by the system to track an object's history.

Hope this clarifies things slightly,
Let us know how we can help you further,
Cheers !
