SMTP "sender not yet given"

This seems to be an old chessnut. Below I have dumped the sendData array that the smtp class uses. The message is being rejected by the SMTP server with:

No sender yet given

Can anyone see whats wrong here - other mails like user registration are working fine with the same server.
