Negin Javadi	Tuesday 04 January 2005 1:31:18 am I wanna change the layout of the top menu but I don't know how,first I don't know what happens when in the admin interface I change the menu positioning forexample when Ichange it from "Only top menu" to "Double top menu" what happens,Imean how the changes make effect? and second if Iwant to chenge the template of menu where is it?forexample I want a "Double top menu" but I wanna use pictures for differnt parts of menu. I have read in the tutorial ("building ez publish site")that if I don't specify a "pagelayout.tpl" file ez publish will usethe default pagelayout template wich is placed in "\design\standard" but when I tried to change this file nothing happend,so I changed the "pagelayout.tpl" file which is in the "design\base" directory and all the changes made affect,why ? n_j1981[at]yahoo[dot]com

In site.ini.appened in /settings/override add/change the settings to the following: [DebugSettings] DebugOutput=enabled [TemplateSettings] #disable templatedebugging to se the "normal" site Debug=enabled ShowXHTMLCode=enabled Remember to clear the cache. The reason that it's using the pagelayout.tpl in design\base is that you have [DesignSettings] AdditionalSiteDesignList[]=base in your site.ini.append in /settings/override or in /settings/siteaccess/whateveryouareusing. If you put a pagelayout.tpl in design/__YOURDESIGNDIR__/templates/pagelayout.tpl this should be used instead. __YOURDESIGNDIR__ is usually "plain" or "corporate" ++ (not admin, standard or base) By adding the debug-settings you can see which template that is used for the menu you want to change. Please don't change that file, but copy it to __YOURDESIGNDIR__ in a similar structure, and change it there. (eg design/standard/templates/page_topbox.tpl -> design/__YOURDESIGNDIR__/templates/page_topbox.tpl) I hope this is helpful.
