Hi,
As mentioned in a previous post, I'm unable to run a workflow containing my custom even using the shop|confirmorder|after trigger. However, when I use the workflow in conjunction with the shop|confirmorder|before trigger, everything works fine.
The problem is that the event uses data from the order, so I really can't run it unless the order has been confirmed. Anyone know of a way around this? Willie mentioned something about a hack in a previous post, but didn't say anything about how this was accomplished.
Thanks in advance !
Sincerely,
Eirik Johansen

I know this thread is very old but I was searching for a similar solution and wanted to make a note of this here ...
Answer
Simply add an entry for 'shop_confirmorder' to the settings override file for workflow.ini
AvailableOperationList[] AvailableOperationList[]=before_shop_confirmorder AvailableOperationList[]=shop_confirmorder
Reference: http://ez.no/doc/ez_publish/technical_manual/3_8/reference/configuration_files/workflow_ini/operationsettings/availableoperations
Cheers!
