Hello,
What is best practice to do the following:
One website that has two totally different pagelayouts. When first ezp starts it should show one layout with its own menus, graphics, structure, content, etc. When the user clicks on a specific button, a new layout with its own menus, graphics, structure, content, etc. should appear.
How should I go about doing this?
Thank you

You could use an {if} inside the main pagelayout, or some more advanced/convoluted techniques.
Depending on your scneario one might be better than the other:
- could the address of pages after the switch be different? (ie. use another siteaccess)
- after the user 'clicke the button', shall he stay forever with the new layout? shall this persist after he logs out and comes back?
- the new layout shall affect also non-content pages such as user/login, content/serach etc?

Thank you Gaetano
There is no login activities.
Both layouts are magazine type sites.
The each layout has it is own menu and there is one common menu between both. Therefore, each layout has two menu with one common menu between them.
Thx

Then you might use two different siteaccesses, each with a different main design and a common design set up as first one in AdditionalSiteDesignList. Place your pagelayouts in your different designs.

How about languages? The site is bilingual. Will this confuse the issue?
Any ideas?

Assuming you are using one siteaccess per language, yes that will have an impact. It means you will have to create 4 siteaccesses in the end
