Content objects from addon package installations contain no data

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem as myself when installing packages from the addon repository in v. 3.5.

After having installed the forum and web log packages, my content structure looks like this (I have, of course, cleared the cache):

http://www.netmaking.no/ezp/content_structure.gif

The problem is, as you can see, that the content objects and nodes are added, but they contain no data.

This problem occurs on three different installations of 3.5 and on two different servers.

Packages installed as a part of the setup process, however, all work fine.

Sincerely,

I find it hard to belive that I am the only one experiencing this problem. Has anyone successfully installed one of the addon packages post-setup?

The same problem seems to be described here, but I do not understand the answer/resolution:

Could someone please explain?

Hi eirik,

What is your default language on your web site ? if it isn't english, I think that's the problem, as the translation isn't properly imported as far as I've understood.

Are you working in a multilingual website ? I've seen some strange results here and there in this configuration.

Hi Xavier,

Sorry for the late reply. Usually I'm told about new posts to the developer forum, but I guess this one missed me.

No, the default language of the site is not English but Norwegian. However, it seems that it still should import something. Are you saying that you have discovered a bug here? And if so, have you reported it?

Hi Eirik,

That is unfortunately not something I've digged enough to be able to tell you if it is really the problem and a real bug. Just that by experience, I've had several strange problems when I don't have english as the default language. I don't know if it's a real workaround for a real bug or some voodoo pratice...

P.S. Talking about multilingual websites on ez, do you have real experience with translation ? I've found some real annoying problem and I'd like to start a discussion to see if ez has real limitations or if it's just because I'm not able to use it...

I have set up one site with 4 different translations. Other than that, I mainly set up sites using Norwegian as the default and only language.

Hi Guys,

review this bug report it covers the same problem (with partial patch)
http://ez.no/bugs/view/6474

Basicly you are looking into something you can't do with eZ publish. It is a bug / missing feature.

Thanks a lot, Björn! If nothing else, I'm happy to see that this is recognized as a bug.
