Lifestyle Assistance & Accommodation Service
Lifestyle Assistance & Accommodation Service
-
http://www.laas.com.au
LAAS is a non-profit organisation providing accommodation and support services for people with a disability living in community houses around the Riverland of South Australia.
As well as needing the power of eZ publish to maintain their public multilingual web presence, LAAS engaged DB Informatics to produce a simple to use yet powerful and comprehensive extranet solution.
Extensions written specifically for this project include a Read Verification function, whereby editors determine which objects must be read by staff. Staff are notified that a new object (typically a policy or memo) has been published or updated that requires them to read it. On reading the object, the staff member clicks on the "Read" button. The editors then have the ability to view which staff have or have not read which 'read required' objects.
A Content Review Date extension was also written which sends reminder emails to creators and modifiers of objects at a date specified by the editor when that object is due to be reviewed - typically used for policy and procedures that require an annual review.
Another extension requiring specific functionality was created so that when a new staff member or board member registers on the Extranet, notifications are automatically set according to the usergroup type over specified nodes to ensure that staff are subscribed to nodes that require their attention.
