Arltarlpilta Community is located at Atitjere (Harts Range) 215km from Alice Springs by road and it normally takes 2 and a half hours to drive and around 30 minutes to fly from Alice Springs. It is an alcohol-free community, and has a population of about 300 residents (including 5 outstations).

Famous for its fossicking areas due south of the community, which encompasses the abandoned mica mines of Mount Palmer.

The Arltarlpilta Community Government Council officially came under the Local Government Act on the 26th September 1997, bring together Atitjere, Mount Eaglebeak, Foxalls Wells, Irrelirre and Unpayekerke under the local scheme.
