7x is happy to announce that we are now releasing the recently updated and improved Exponential 6.0.13 available now for download, installation, upgrade. This release is a security release with additional features!
This release is our fourth as Exponential. The software is exactly the same as before as you expect it to be, with a simple text change to the software to replace the product name and remove the trademarked term and a lot of feature improvements!
Upgrade process for existing installations has not changed at all. New installations work as expected. Freedom for the Exponential Community is retained and stable for general use! No slowdowns here, full speed ahead!
We remind users that using the latest release which includes PHP Support for 8.5+ Headless CMS Featuring REST API Support (for v2 write crud). Remember to try the new responsive admin design (updated and refined to work on iPhones + Android cellular phones + tablets) enabled by default in the released Exponential version 6.0.9 the tenth release from 7x.
Try out the new features today by downloading the software package now available (tar.gz or zip)!
7x is happy to announce the release of Exponential 6.0.13, available now for download, installation, and upgrade from GitHub, SourceForge, and Composer.
This release is headlined by critical security hardening — six SQL-injection and OS shell-injection attack surfaces have been closed across four files, with parameterised queries and proper shell-argument escaping applied throughout. Alongside the security work, this release delivers PHP 8 session compatibility fixes, null and undefined-variable guards across 12 files, and PHP 8.4 deprecation resolutions. The main themes of 6.0.13 are: Security Hardening, PHP 8 Compatibility, SQLite3 Driver Improvements, New Template String Operators, and an upgraded PHPUnit 13 Test Suite. For the full technical breakdown see the v6.0.12…v6.0.13 commit log.
The SQLite3 database driver gains two quality-of-life improvements: autoload registration is now correct and an absolute filesystem path for the database file is accepted, making it practical to use outside the default 'var/' directory tree. A set of PHP string-manipulation functions:
- rstring
- ristring
- str_pad
- wordwrap
- chunk_split
- str_word_count
- number_format
- sprintf
- wrappers, and more — are now available directly as Exponential template operators.
We remind users that Exponential continues to support PHP 8.1 through 8.5+. 7x urges you to run Exponential on a secure, actively maintained PHP release such as PHP 8.3 or 8.4.
The existing Headless CMS REST API v2 (CRUD) support, responsive Admin3 design, and PostgreSQL 17 setup-wizard support introduced in prior releases are all included as usual. Upgrade process for existing installations is unchanged.
You can review the release notes or download the release from GitHub (tar.gz or zip), SourceForge, or Composer!
